Irish singer-songwriter Claire Hawkins returns with Between Two Bodies, a beautifully intimate four-track EP that reflects on travel, identity, and the search for belonging. Blending the warmth of Irish folk with soft-rock influences and atmospheric production, the project captures the emotional space between leaving home and discovering where you truly belong.
Written during her residency at the Odyssée Artist-in-Residence Program in Canet-en-Roussillon, France, the EP was born from a season of reflection and personal transformation. Living far from home gave Hawkins the chance to slow down, look inward, and reconnect with the memories, relationships, and experiences that continue to shape her life.
Produced by Hana Elion of Overcoats, Between Two Bodies pairs delicate acoustic arrangements with rich melodies and Hawkins’ heartfelt vocals. The result is a collection that feels both intimate and expansive, exploring themes of nostalgia, distance, childhood, personal growth, and the quiet moments that often lead to life’s biggest realizations.
Speaking about the project, Hawkins says, “These songs came out of a time of isolation. My artist residency gave me the opportunity to stop and reflect on the constant movement I had experienced in the years of travel prior. I found myself writing about my childhood and my community back home, and the bigger questions behind the choices I was making. In many ways, these songs represent a pivot. They brought me home.”
The EP arrives after the release of three singles and marks another significant step in Hawkins’ artistic evolution. Her honest songwriting and thoughtful storytelling have earned her a growing audience drawn to music that values emotional authenticity over spectacle.
When she’s not traveling, Hawkins splits her time between Dublin and New York City, performing at respected venues including Mercury Lounge, Hotel Café, and Whelan’s. A graduate of New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, she has steadily built a career rooted in meaningful songwriting and genuine connection.
Beyond her music, Hawkins has also cultivated a loyal online following by documenting life as an independent touring artist. Her travel-inspired YouTube channel has attracted more than 30,000 subscribers and surpassed 3 million views, giving fans an authentic glimpse into both her creative process and life on the road.
With Between Two Bodies, Claire Hawkins delivers her most reflective work yet—a collection of songs that embraces change, celebrates human connection, and reminds listeners that home is often found not in a single place, but in the memories and experiences we carry with us wherever we go.
