Leigh-Anne – Been A Minute: Leigh-Anne is back, brighter, bolder, and more fearless than ever. Her new single “Been A Minute,” out now via Virgin Music Group, signals a vibrant new chapter in her solo journey. Infused with Caribbean flavor and wrapped in feel-good energy, the track reintroduces Leigh-Anne on her own terms.
Built around a sample of Masters at Work’s classic “Work,” the song pays homage to her childhood soundtrack while transforming it into something fresh and exciting. Produced by Elijah “GYW Eli” Ross and Lasse Qvist, “Been A Minute” blends smooth vocals, dancehall rhythms, and pop confidence into a track that feels instantly familiar yet entirely her own.
The accompanying music video is a celebration in motion. Directed by Femi Lade, it places Leigh-Anne at the heart of a carnival fantasy filled with color, movement, and joy. A mysterious red-cloaked figure suddenly interrupts the revelry, adding a cinematic twist that hints at something deeper beneath the surface.
“I grew up dancing to this song,” Leigh-Anne says. “Now, I’ve been able to make it mine. ‘Been A Minute’ is playful, nostalgic, and sets the tone for everything that’s coming next.”
This is her first release since No Hard Feelings, an introspective EP that explored love, heartbreak, and identity. “Been A Minute” shifts gears, embracing lightness, groove, and celebration while still honoring the journey that brought her here.
With festival appearances lined up at Reading & Leeds, Manchester Pride, and Mighty Hoopla Malta, Leigh-Anne is making it clear she’s not just returning—she’s ready to take center stage.
