Mariah Carey is ready to make her return. The legendary vocalist has officially announced her 16th studio album, Here For It All, set to be released on September 26, 2025, through her own imprint, MARIAH/gamma.
She broke the news via social media on July 21, alongside a cinematic teaser that features a preview of the title track. The upcoming 11-track project will include the already-successful lead single, “Type Dangerous”, as well as a new song titled “Sugar Sweet”, which she teased just days earlier.
Here For It All marks Carey’s first full-length album since 2018’s Caution, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and was widely praised by critics. That album included collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign, Slick Rick, Blood Orange, and Gunna, with standout tracks like “GTFO” and “A No No.”
In 2024, Carey revisited her Caution ballad “Portrait” as part of Audible’s Words + Music series, releasing a remix EP and opening up about the emotional depth behind the original track. In an interview with Variety, she reflected on its significance:
“It was really about the strong feelings that I had… To go from such a slow, very sad song to this uptempo, upbeat version—still sad in its lyrics, but much less so because we gave it new life. I really enjoyed the process.”
That conversation also hinted at what was to come, with Carey confirming she had begun working on new material.
The album’s lead single, “Type Dangerous”, was produced and co-written by Anderson .Paak. It debuted at No. 1 on both the R&B Digital Song Sales and R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales charts, and also made appearances on the Hot 100, Adult R&B Airplay, and Hot R&B Songs charts. She performed the track live for the first time at the 2025 BET Awards, where she received the Ultimate Icon Award—a moment that underscored her lasting impact on music and culture.
She followed up the success with Type Dangerous – The Remixes, a four-track EP released on July 11, featuring guest appearances from Busta Rhymes, Redman, Method Man, Big Sean, DJ Snake, and Brazilian star Luísa Sonza.
With Here For It All, Mariah Carey isn’t just releasing another album—she’s reinforcing her legacy and proving once again that her voice, vision, and artistry remain as powerful as ever.
